Cyclones to blow into town.
Iowa State next on the big pond
November 4, 2004 - Back to back to back to back, that is how the Illini are playing the Cyclones of Iowa State this season. Last week the Illini traveled to Ames, IA and were able to pull out two wins against the Cyclones. Iowa State would surely love to turn things around and do the same thing to the Illini when they travel to Champaign this weekend. The Illini struggled last weekend in two come from behind games against the 'Clones and would like to come out with more fire and determination to put the Iowa State skaters behind quickly, not letting up until the game is over. If the Illini can keep the play in the offensive zone, sending plenty of pucks towards the ISU goaltenders, who have been on the shaky side this season allowing over three goals per game, they should be able to do just that. Defensively the Illini will have to keep up on their game as well, playing ISU hard and limiting the shots on goal, especially from their sharpshooters. Two more Illini wins this weekend would add four points to their Central States Collegiate Hockey League total, tying them with Iowa State who currently have eight points, and move them closer to a spot in the CSCHL playoffs. Both games this weekend are at 7:00pm at the University of Illinois Ice Arena. Be sure to get your tickets early since these are usually standing room only games.
