05, 2004 - The members of Illini hockey
club and their families gathered together at the
Illini Union on campus for their annual awards banquet.
The capacity crowd listened
to coach Chad Cassel as he
recapped the Illini's 2003-2004 season. Coach Cassel
also pointed out the numerous players that were recognized
by
the leagues
for their outstand play. The team awards, as voted
by the players, were also handed out at the banquet:
Rookie of the Year: Mike DeGeorge
Best Defenseman: Andy Lubesnick
Most Improved Player:
Tom Fullerton
Best Forward: Pat Olson
Most Valuable Player: Brian Coleman & Pat Olson
Eric Steffensen Award: Asst. Coach Eric Penn
Also
the team leadership was also handed over from Ari
Aberman to the new Club president Brian Coleman.
Helping out Brian this coming season will be Vice
presidents
Tom Fullerton and Alex Tauchen, and Treasurer Justin
Stock.
