The Alumni take to the ice.

January, 25 2004 - If you like high scoring hockey games, the annual Illini Hockey Alumni game would have been the one to go to. With the Alumni suited up and split into the White and Blue squads, they hit the ice with a fury in this winner take all, no holds barred match up. The Blue team dominated early and for most of the game, but the White team fought back in the late stages of the contest. With seconds to go in the game the White team was awarded a penalty shot for a Blue team infraction. Last seasons captain and club president Brian Tilden skated through a barrage of sticks to put the puck into the net and end the game with a 13-13 tie. After the game was over, the Alumni relaxed at Biaggi's Ristorante for the annual Banquet. The Alumni then returned to the ice arena later that evening as the Illini Hockey club took on the Cyclones of Iowa State, and were honored between periods in front of the standing room only crowd.
