9, 2003 - The latest rankings are out
for the American Collegiate Hockey Association's
Division One teams and the Illini move up a notch
to number
two as Ohio University tumbles down to the number
five slot. Obviously due to a slow start for the
Bobcats, losing the first three of the five games
they played, voters changed their minds and lowered
their expectations for the Ohio team. Once again
Penn State was the overwhelming choice for the top
spot in the first ranking of the 2003-04 season, getting
28 of a possible 30 first-place votes. The
Lions will make their season debut on Friday against
number six Iowa State. Newcomer Lindenwood University
made its debut in the ACHA rankings coming in at
number
thirteen after
sweeping
Ohio
University on the road. The top twenty Division One
teams are ranked as follows:
