23, 2003 - The Illini will be opening
up the ice to fans of all ages as they host their
annual "Skate with the Illini" event
on Saturday October 4th, 2003. The event will be
held at the
University of Illinois Ice arena, 406 East Armory,
for two hours begining at 7:30 p.m. until 9:30
p.m. The
cost to attend is a mere $5 for the general public
and $3 for U of I students and Campus Rec. members,
with all proceeds going to the Don Moyer Boys & Girls
Club of Champaign-Urbana. The team members will
be there
to sign autographs,
have pictures taken, or even challenge younger
skaters to a quick sprint down the ice. Fans can
take the
time to meet and greet the newest players to the
clubs roster and chat it up with the veterans.
Skates will be available at the Ice Arena or you
are welcome
to bring your own.
