Illini
head to Happy Valley

Kent
State after last seasons championship win. |
January
15th, 2003 - The number 2 ranked Illini
(21-1-0) are on the road this weekend and headed to
Pennsylvania for two tough match ups against the number 1 ranked
Penn State Icers (19-0-1). Even with players from each team
currently in Italy for the World University Games, this is still a
very highly anticipated weekend of hockey as well as it being a
rematch of last years ACHA championship game. Of the players missing
this meeting, Illinois will be short their captain, Brian Tilden, as
well as forwards Luke Carlson and Pat Olson while Penn State will be
without forwards Neal Price and Bill Downey and defensive players
Josh Mandel and Curtiss Patrick. The Illini's defense will have it's
hands full with two of the top points leaders still on the ice for
PSU. The Icer's Glenn Zuck and Kevin Jaeger are currently ranked #1
and #3 on the ACHA players statistics board, Zuck with 19 goals and
30 assists, and Jaeger with 24 goals and 17 assists, a line up that
has done a good job of putting points on the board. In front of the
nets two more ACHA leaders will be in place as The Illini's
goaltender Tim Danlow and PSU's Scott Graham will once again meet up
to see who can keep more of the biscuits in front of them than in
the cage behind them.
Game time on Friday is at 8 PM
Central and Saturday at 2:30 PM Central. On the web, you can visit
